Rising Above – Regina Discipleship Project

rising above

First Peoples, helping First Peoples, bringing God’s healing to our land.

Rising Above is a national Indigenous-led Christian ministry founded in 1994.
The Regina Discipleship Project was initiated in 2022 by Nick and Vivian Helliwell.

Their key programs include:

  • Indigenous Christian Discussion Groups, where they discuss authentic Indigenous expressions of the Christian faith. This also brings healing by sharing their grief, recovery, spiritual growth and understandings.
  • Journey Through the Bible Discipleship Course – disciples of Jesus Christ learning how to disciple by example of the Gospel record.
  • Urban Indigenous Christian Advocacy – advocating for social justice, truth, and reconciliation.
  • Community Chaplaincy – bringing The Church out of the church and onto the street.
