Protect Christians in Canada

pcc

Many Christians in Canada are concerned about government and corporate overreach in their communities, workplaces or schools. Anti-Christian bigotry and discrimination also affect Christian citizens and organizations across our country.

Concerned Christians in the Durham region in Ontario have authored a petition that will be presented by Member of Parliament Jamil Jivani in the nation’s capital in February 2025. The petition demands that all levels of government must take action to protect Christians in Canada.

Concerns include:

  • Defending the rights of parents to play a leading role in their children’s education and important decisions involving their children.
  • Safeguarding conscience rights and the freedom of religion for unionized and non-unionized workers, including health care professionals.
  • Strengthening penalties and increasing law enforcement in response to crime targeting churches and places of worship.
  • Protecting the legal status and freedom of expression of Christian charities.

You can take a stand by signing the petition here.

Christmas Wish List 2024

christmas wish listRead a story.
Give a gift.
Touch a life.

The Glen Elm Church of Christ is again facilitating the Regina Christmas Wish List – an opportunity for  citizens of Regina to express care and compassion during the Christmas season. The first batch of stories has been posted, and many more will be posted in the days ahead. Partners include ministries such as CityKidz Regina, Morning Star Ministries, and the Good News Chapel. Check out their partner pages on the RCWL website to learn more.

The project works like this:

  • Local organizations, working with the impoverished and marginalized of our city, identify individuals and families within their circles, and create concise stories which are posted to the website.
  • Caring citizens read these stories, pledge gifts, and purchase the items they have pledged (new items only), which they then deliver to Glen Elm Church of Christ (1825 Rothwell St., Regina) by 8 p.m. on December 18.
  • The gifts are forwarded on to the partnering organizations, who place them in the hands of the clients they identified.
  • Everyone has a merrier Christmas!

This year’s drop-off deadline is December 18.

To join in, visit Regina Christmas Wish List. All support is greatly appreciated!

A Call to Action from RCAAN

RCAAN_Logo

The Regina Civic Action Awareness Network (RCAAN) is a group committed to fostering a well-informed and active community in Regina, empowering residents with the knowledge and tools necessary to make impactful political decisions and take meaningful action.

Our education system in Regina, and in Saskatchewan, is deteriorating. Our students are scoring close to the bottom in Canada in basic subjects like reading and mathematics. A main reason for this is that children are spending an unwarranted amount of time being taught ideas concerning gender identity and other non-essential subjects. Furthermore, this type of teaching has been inserted into the curricula without parental knowledge or involvement.

For too long, School Board elections have been ignored by the majority of citizens. It is time for caring people to change this by voting for candidates who will get things back to basics in our schools.

To learn more about these issues, including a list of candidates that have been carefully considered by RCAAN based on family values, parental involvement, a back-to-basics approach, and eliminating sexual and other indoctrination in the schools, please visit their website at rcaan.ca.

Additionally, please pass this message along to others, and be sure to vote for the approved candidates on November 13th. Your voice matters!

Good News Chapel Needs Our Support

gnc vanThe Good News Chapel ministers to the outcast, unloved and rejected people in North Central Regina. Additionally, they currently hold services at the Muskowekwan Band Hall on the second and fourth Saturday each month.

They recently had to spend over $6000 in repairs on the church van (pictured). This van is used extensively to transport the children and youth to events, minister to the needs of those in North Central, and transport the team to Muskowekwan First Nation.

If you are able to help cover some of the costs of both these repairs and the ongoing fuel and maintenance needs, it would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be made by mailing a cheque for Good News Chapel to P.O. Box 4011 Stn Main, Regina, SK S4P 3R9, or online at goodnewschapel.ca.
